Coming up in August!
Well here we are already into the first week of August 2005. It's been a busy summer so far.
Many of us have had a lot going on in RL (yup... RL keeps interfering with UO again!). :) But a lot has been going on with TAA/tDw and especially within the UO community.
The TAA and tDw web sites have had Movable Type (a blog/CMS system) installed... and very recently we upgraded MT to the new 3.2 beta 1 version. The TAA/tDw Allied Guilds Forum itself has been thru constant upgrades to the latest betas of YaBB (Yet another Bulletin Board) 2.0... which has many new features and capabilities. As you may have noticed both our MT and YaBB install "look" bare stock... but just in the last week or so you'll notice that our MT and YaBB are slowly being tweaked with mods, templates and stylesheets (there is a lot to do still). :)
Members come and go... and come back. We seeing new members join, and old vets coming back... some of that may be due to burnout on other trendy MMORPG's, and the buzz building about the new UO:Mondain's Legacy... more on that later).
One of our former members, HardKore (aka BloodyJoe on the forum) is a Memphis, TN based metal band called Imbrued Deceit... just this last week ID just finished up their first EP/CD with some studio recorded tracks and even a couple of live performances included. ID will be giving EP/CDs away free for the asking... check the News board on the forum for specific details!
Also a new current TAA/tDw member, Storm Tiger... and her husband, are start a new car club and web site called TweakedRods.com... it'll be "geared" for muscle car enthusiasts! They are planning the club's organization and designing a web site for it now. Have an interest in fast cars... talk it up on the forum's Roundtable board with Storm Tiger and others.
Summer has also brought with it two UO-themed Internet radio stations... one is Sosaria Live, and the other is UORadio. They both offer a large variety of music (even some of the music from UO), live DJs talking and interviewing UO players about the game. Also another UO player, Hink, is a DJ at Internet radio station called, Club 69.
The biggest UO news is coming from EA itself. They've conducted several Town Hall meetings this spring and summer... and just announced Town Hall meetings for Europe coming soon. And announced the new UO expansion called UO:Mondain's Legacy.
From all appearances it looks like UO:ML will be the largest UO expansion to date! It will introduce the Elven race to UO, but also bring new... armor & weapons, crafting, dungeons, housing tiles, items, quests, rares & collectibles, ridables, and much debated PvP changes. And much more.
UO:ML is in open beta now. Pre-ordering begins August 14 (including a pre-order ridable gift). And goes live onto production shards a matter of weeks after that.

New TAA Site Under Construction
Hi Everyone,
As you can see the new tDw site is under construction now. The Movable Type system has been installed on the server, and has been configured. Next is the development of the HTML and CSS files to give the site it's look and layout. I have a fair understanding of HTML, but CSS is entirely new to me... so there is a learning curve. :)
As you can see the main page of the site is pretty bare at the moment. This will change on a daily basis... as the site comes together with content, blogs, links,and even RSS newsfeeds.
Speaking of RSS (Really Simple Syndication), it will work both ways here on the site. We'll be importing RSS newsfeeds from other sites (like from Stratics, ZDNet, ExtremeTech, even the TAA site!). :)
We already have (right now!) a tDw RSS newsfeed to export. If your web browser reads RSS or you have a RSS reader on your computer... you can get all the latest news on the site and watch the site's growth as we build it.
